Hyderabad, June 12 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao on Thursday expressed outrage over the brutal assault on a 12-year-old girl from Khammam, allegedly at the hands of a 49-year-old man.
The minister visited the victim at NIMS Hospital in Hyderabad, where she is undergoing treatment for severe injuries sustained in the attack.
Speaking to the media after meeting the girl, Thummala said her spine had been severely damaged and she had suffered multiple fractures after being allegedly thrown from the top of a building.
He assured the victim and her family that the state government would bear all expenses and provide the best possible medical treatment. According to doctors, her recovery may take up to three months.
