Hyderabad, April 11 -- Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University Vice Chancellor Prof Ghanta Chakrapanti on Saturday said that Jyotiba Phule advocated equal access to education for all sections of society, irrespective of caste or social status, and viewed education as a powerful tool for social transformation and empowerment.
Addressing as Chief Guest at a Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Lecture organized as part of its "Social Empowerment Fest" at the university campus here, he observed that education under the Sanatana system was historically restrictive and exclusionary, which Jyotiba Phule strongly opposed.
