Hyderabad, June 10 -- : A newborn male infant allegedly sold for Rs 1.70 lakh through mediators was rescued by authorities and placed under the care of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in Hyderabad.

Since the alleged transaction took place within the jurisdiction of Nandigama Police Station, the Zero FIR registered at Kulsumpura Police Station in the city has been transferred to Nandigama Police Station in Ranga Reddy District for re-registration and further investigation.
