Hyderabad, April 4 -- Telangana Jagruti President and former BRS MP, Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Saturday alleged a nexus between the state government and corporate educational institutions, accusing them of burdening poor and middle-class families through steep fee hikes.

In a statment, she demanded that special sessions of the Assembly be convened to address the issue and enact a fee regulation law.

Questioning the government's priorities, Kavitha said that while special sessions were held in Parliament for the Women's Reservation Bill, similar urgency was not being shown to resolve the problems faced by lakhs of families struggling with high education costs.
