Hyderabad, Jan. 3 -- With the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) witnessing a major expansion of its jurisdiction from 650 sq. km to 2,053 sq. km, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan on Saturday delegated enhanced administrative and revenue-related powers to Zonal Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to ensure faster and more citizen-centric governance.
Exercising powers under Section 119 of the GHMC Act, 1955, the Commissioner issued formal proceedings authorising Zonal Commissioners to take decisions on matters related to property tax assessments, revisions, mutations, exemptions and allied services, subject to prescribed limits and conditions.
