Hyderabad, April 7 -- Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University on Tuesday inaugurated a "Cultural & Sports Meet" as part of Social Empowerment Week being organised to mark the 135th birth anniversary of B. R. Ambedkar at its campus here.
Director (Academic) Prof G. Pushpa Chakrapani inaugurated the event and emphasised the importance of sports and physical activity for employees.
She said participation in sports and regular exercise helps relieve work-related stress and contributes to both mental and physical well-being.
President of the Non-Teaching Employees' Association Kantham Prem Kumar said various sports competitions would be organised for employees throughout the week.
