Budapest, June 24 -- Hungary has delayed a key procedural step in Ukraine and Moldova's bids to join the EU, further complicating Kyiv's goal of opening all six accession negotiation clusters by mid-July.
Ukraine has repeatedly pushed for an accelerated path to membership, with President Volodymyr Zelensky arguing that the country should join the bloc no later than 2027. However, the effort continues to face resistance from several EU member states.
