Yavatmal, Oct. 25 -- Human skeletal remains were discovered in the Chousala forest area adjoining Yavatmal city today.
Police suspect that the incident occurred around three to four months ago. Identifying the deceased has become a major challenge for the authorities. Forest officials from the Chousala range first spotted the remains and informed the rural police.
Upon inspection, police recovered a human skull, bones, hair, a T-shirt, and a woman's bracelet from the site, said rural police office.
The remains have been sent to the forensic laboratory for examination. Preliminary findings suggest that the deceased may have been a young woman aged between 15 and 30 years.
