Shimla, March 25 -- Himachal Pradesh has been honoured by the government of India for successfully completing the first Major and Medium Irrigation (MMI) Census under the Irrigation Census 2023-2025.
The recognition was awarded to the state's Jal Shakti Vibhag for its timely and efficient execution of the nationwide exercise.
The award was presented by union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil at a ceremony held in New Delhi. Secretary Jal Shakti Vibhag Abhishek Jain received the award on behalf of the department in the presence of union Jal Shakti Secretary V L Kantha Rao.
Later, Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta and Jal Shakti Secretary Abhishek Jain formally presented the award to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Shimla.
