Shimla, Sept. 15 -- Himachal Pradesh High Court today rejected the plea of panel advocate Jai Singh Chauhan, accused by the CBI of conspiring to inflate the credit cash limit of a Bank of India of a borrower Sunil Gupta.
The interim plea sought relief based on the Supreme Court's landmark judgment in the K. Narayana Rao case, but the court found the circumstances materially different.
Justice Rakesh Kainthla, while hearing Cr. MMO No. 802 of 2025 (Jai Singh Chauhan vs. Central Bureau of Investigation, Delhi), noted that Chauhan, in his capacity as panel advocate of the Bank of India, had prepared a title search report on December 4, 2004.
