Shimla, Sept. 4 -- Himachal Pradesh High Court has quashed the appointment of a Van Mitra made by the state government and directed authorities to offer the post to a disqualified candidate who was wrongly declared ineligible on age grounds.
A single-judge bench of Justice Sandeep Sharma passed the order on August 28, while allowing a writ petition filed by Suchitra, who was denied appointment despite topping the merit list.
In a nine page verdict supplied to media by the HC spokesperson observed that the rejection of her candidature on the ground of being "overage" was arbitrary and contrary to the recruitment scheme.
