Shimla, Sept. 2 -- Himachal Pradesh Government today informed the State Assembly that it is contemplating replacing 52-seater buses with smaller vehicles, keeping in view the tough geographical terrain of the hill state.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, in a written unstarred reply to a question raised by Congress MLA Kewal Singh Pathania during Question Hour, said the state has already initiated steps in this direction.

He said that the government, considering the geographical conditions, had invited online applications from the public between June 9 and July 28, 2025, for allotment of 350 new stage carriage routes for 18-seater Tempo Travellers in the private sector.
