Shimla, Feb. 28 -- Deputy Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Mukesh Agnihotri on Saturday inaugurated a Rs 12.42 crore lift drinking water scheme for the Mata Shri Chintpurni Temple area in Una district of Himachal Pradesh.
The project will provide a regular and safe drinking water supply to 19 villages across five panchayats, including the temple precincts.
"The scheme would benefit more than 10,000 residents, over 4,000 students and thousands of pilgrims who visit the shrine annually. Water has been lifted from Kalruhi Khad through an approximately 17-kilometre pipeline network," he said, adding that the project includes the installation of three storage tanks and modern pumping machinery to ensure an uninterrupted supply.
