Bilaspur, April 24 -- A case of fraud has come to light in Bilaspur, where a youth was allegedly cheated of lakhs of rupees on the pretext of arranging a student visa for overseas education.

According to the complaint filed with the police, Nishant Thakur (24), son of Mohinder Singh and a resident of Ghumartha, Tehsil Dhatwal, District Hamirpur, accused Abhishek Kumar Sharma of Pantehra and Munish Sharma of Ghumarwin of collecting approximately Rs 20,41,364 from him through various means, promising to secure a student visa for studying abroad. However, the accused allegedly failed to provide the visa later.
