Shimla, March 31 -- The Centre has approved a Rs 3,920 crore financial assistance for Himachal Pradesh under the "Pride of Hills" initiative for 2026-27, aimed at boosting capital investment in hill states facing structural constraints.

The assistance forms part of the Rs 25,000 crore Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) package announced for hill states, with Arunachal Pradesh receiving the highest allocation of Rs 4,900 crore, followed by Himachal Pradesh among the top beneficiaries.
