Dharamshala, May 18 -- Three persons, including two residents of Punjab, were arrested and booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act after police recovered 5.59 grams of heroin, commonly known as "chitta," from a vehicle near Om Project at Suradi in Palampur sub-division of Kangra district, police said today.

Kangra district superintendent of police Ashok Rattan told UNI that the contraband was recovered on May 16 from vehicle number PB01E-7044 during a checking operation conducted by Police Station Palampur.
