Shahpur (Kangra), June 12 -- Bavita, the elected councillor from Ward No. 3, was unanimously elected President of the Shahpur Nagar Panchayat, while Rajeev Patial, elected from Ward No. 5, was chosen as Vice-President during a meeting held on Friday.
The election process for the two key posts was conducted peacefully at a meeting chaired by Shahpur SDM Ganesh Thakur.
The newly-elected councillors of the Nagar Panchayat participated in the selection process.
Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania congratulated Bavita and Rajeev Patial on their election and expressed confidence that under their leadership, the Shahpur Nagar Panchayat would usher in a new phase of development and prioritize public welfare initiatives.
