Nurpur (Kangra), Aug. 17 -- The Nurpur Police on Monday arrested a proclaimed offender from Dinanagar in Punjab's Gurdaspur district as part of its ongoing drive against absconding accused.
The accused was identified as 33-year-old Akash, son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of Awanakha village in Dinanagar tehsil of Gurdaspur district.
Police said Akash was wanted in connection with FIR No. 65/2016 registered under Section 39(1) of the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act at Indora Police Station.
A court had declared him a proclaimed offender on July 28, 2026.
Acting on the case, the PO Cell team of Nurpur Police District traced and arrested him from Dinanagar on Monday.
