Dharamshala, Aug. 11 -- Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania has urged union Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan to approve the establishment of a modern Food Corporation of India (FCI) steel silo in Shahpur for scientific storage of wheat and rice.
During his meeting with the union Minister in New Delhi, Pathania submitted a proposal stating that a modern storage facility would benefit farmers and the food processing sector while ensuring safer grain storage and reducing post-harvest losses.
Pathania pointed out that FCI has established modern steel silos under the public-private partnership model in major agricultural states including Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
