Nurpur, Sept. 4 -- Nurpur Police have arrested a 19-year-old youth and seized 260 grams of heroin, locally known as 'chitta', during a crackdown on drug trafficking in Kangra district, police said on Friday.
The action was carried out by the CIA Wing of Nurpur Police in the Ulehariyan area on September 3.
Police sources told UNI that the CIA team was conducting patrolling and surveillance in Damtaal, Indora and Milwan areas when it received credible information that a youth was allegedly carrying heroin concealed in a motorcycle near a railway crossing on the road leading from NH-44 towards Ulehariyan.
