Dharamshala, July 24 -- The Nurpur Police in Himachal Pradesh have registered an FIR against five persons for allegedly carrying out illegal mining in the Mand Indora riverine area of Kangra district in violation of the state government's monsoon mining ban.
According to an official press note issued by the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Nurpur, the action was taken by the Mand Indora Police as part of the district's ongoing drive against illegal mining.
An FIR (No. 119/2026), dated July 24, 2026, has been registered under Sections 303(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 21 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957.
