Hamirpur(HP) , May 14 -- The scrutiny process has been completed for a total of 5,333 nomination papers filed for the elections-to be held in three phases-covering a total of 1,860 posts.
These posts include those for the 19 wards of the Hamirpur Zila parishad, the 119 wards across all 6 Panchayat Samitis (Block Development Committees) of the district, and the Pradhans (Heads), Up-Pradhans (Deputy Heads), and Ward Members of the district's 242 Gram Panchayats.
Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (Panchayat), Gandharva Rathore, said that during the scrutiny process-which commenced on Tuesday morning-52 nomination papers were rejected. Conversely, 5,281 nomination papers were found to be valid.
