Shimla, Feb. 26 -- Himachal Pradesh, after witnessing an unusually prolonged dry spell and higher-than-normal winter temperatures, may finally see light to moderate rain and snowfall over the next two days.

The state has recorded nearly 85 percent deficient rain and snow during February so far, reflecting one of the driest winter phases in recent years. Even as a western disturbance approaches, night temperatures continue to remain above seasonal averages in most regions.

Among prominent tourist resorts, minimum temperatures remained relatively mild. Shimla recorded 7.6 degrees, Manali 3.9 degrees, Dharamshala 10.0 degrees and Kalpa 1.6 degrees.
