Dharamshala, June 12 -- Emphasising the crucial role of Panchayats in the fight against tuberculosis (TB), Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Vinay Kumar on Thursday said that community participation, public awareness and timely treatment are key to achieving the goal of a TB-free India.

Chairing a multi-sectoral review meeting on the 80th day of the TB Free India Campaign 2.0 in Dharamshala, Kumar said that 287 Panchayats in Kangra District had been declared TB-free by 2025, including 69 silver and 37 gold-category Panchayats, placing the district among the best performers in Himachal Pradesh.
