Shimla, March 24 -- The Himachal Pradesh government has issued fresh postings and transfers of senior IPS officers, assigning responsibilities to those awaiting placement and streamlining key positions in the police department.

S. Zahur Haider Zaidi (1994 batch), who was awaiting posting, has been appointed as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Police Academy Training and Research, Shimla. He will now head the state's main police training institution.
