Hamirpur (HP), May 11 -- A powerful dust-storm followed by thunder showers repeatedly lashed all parts of the Hamirpur district on the intervening nights of Sunday and Monday and caused huge damage to the government and private properties.
Though the sky was cloudy till 1.30 A.M on Sunday, a massive dust-storm hit various parts of the district thereafter and caused heavy losses to the standing trees, power poles, banners, boards and hoardings. They fell on the ground; as a result the roads and fields were filled with the broken material.
The dust-storm also paralysed water supply and power supply as a result there was no power in various parts of the district till 6.A.M on Monday.
