HP: First unit of Shongtong Hydropower Project to be commissioned by year-end

Shimla, Jan. 22 -- The first unit of the under-construction 450 megawatt Shongtong Project in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh is to be commissioned by December this year, Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited Chief Managing Director said here today.

A meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Revenue and Tribal Development Minister Jagat Singh Negi. During the meeting, officials of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) gave a detailed presentation on the progress of the Shongtong Hydropower Project.
