Shimla, May 18 -- BJP state president Rajeev Bindal termed his party's performance in the Himachal Pradesh urban local body elections as a "historic victory" and described the outcome as a referendum against the Congress government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
Addressing media persons here on Monday, he claimed that the civic poll results reflected the confidence of the people in the BJP, the hard work of party workers and the organisational strength of the party. He alleged that the verdict was a clear rejection of the Congress government's "false guarantees, failures and anti-people policies".
