Shimla, May 16 -- The BJP on Saturday lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission alleging distribution of liquor and attempts to influence voters ahead of Sunday's Nahan Municipal Council elections, and demanded strict action against those involved.

In a detailed memorandum submitted to the Commission, the BJP accused a Congress candidate contesting from Ward Number 1 of engaging in illegal election practices by allegedly distributing liquor and other intoxicants to voters to influence polling outcomes.
