Kolkata, Jan. 12 -- The Howrah police in West Bengal arrested three alleged members of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang from the Howrah station premises following a tip-off.

The three arrested -- all residents of Punjab -- have been identified as Karan Pathak, Tarandeep Singh and Akashdeep Singh.

Police sources said the trio is wanted in the murder of a kabaddi player in Punjab, after which Punjab Police had launched a search operation to trace them.

Investigators said that soon after the murder, the accused fled Punjab and took shelter in West Bengal.

Police sources said the three first went into hiding in Gangtok and later shifted to Kolkata to evade arrest.
