Thiruvananthapuram, April 20 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for multiple districts across Kerala, cautioning residents about rising temperatures and oppressive humidity from April 20 to April 24, 2026.

According to the advisory, maximum temperatures are expected to remain significantly above normal, with isolated areas in Palakkad likely to touch 40degC, the highest in the state.

Kollam may record temperatures up to 39degC, while districts including Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod are expected to see highs of around 37degC. The capital, Thiruvananthapuram, may experience temperatures near 36degC.
