New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- Addressing the concerns of Kashmir's apple growers, who ar staring at severe losses this year due to floods and highway closures, Indian Railways today commenced the loading of fresh apples on two vehicle parcel trains, each carrying 23 metric tonnes, destined for the Delhi market.

This move comes as part of a proactive effort to ease transportation challenges and provide timely access to the capital's fruit markets ahead of the peak apple season.

Starting September 13, a dedicated daily parcel train will run between Badgam in Kashmir and Adarsh Nagar in Delhi, facilitating the swift and efficient movement of apples and other perishable goods.
