Shillong, April 28 -- A local court in Meghalaya granted bail to Sonam Raghuvanshi- the prime accused in the May 2025 murder of her husband, Indore-based transporter Raja Raghuvanshi - on the grounds that the police had failed to communicate to her the grounds for arrest.

The order was passed on Monday by the Court of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Judicial), Shillong, Dashalene R. Kharbteng, directing the accused to furnish a bail bond of Rs 50,000 alongwith a surety of the same amount, Special Public Prosecutor K.C. Gautam said.

Sonam was also directed to remain within the court's jurisdiction and appear before the court during subsequent hearings. It also directed the accused not to tamper with the evidence or witnesses.
