Chennai, Sept. 14 -- FIDE on Monday confirmed the format, schedule and prize money for the World Championship match between defending champion GM D.Gukesh of India and his Uzbek Challenger Javokhir Sindarov--the youngest WC contest in history--to be held at Geneva from November 22 to December 11, with tiebreakers if required the next day (December 12).

Announcing the schedule, FIDE said the match will be held at the Fondation Martin Bodmer in Cologny, Geneva, from November 22 to December 13 2026, bringing a World Championship match back to Switzerland for the first time since Brissago in 2004.
