Mumbai, Feb. 22 -- The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) has called upon the Maharashtra Government to introduce and pass a stringent and non-bailable "Anti-Love Jihad" and "Anti-Illegal Conversion" law during the forthcoming legislative session, seeking provisions that include life imprisonment for offenders.

In a press statement on Sunday, Sunil Ghanwat, State Organizer (Chhattisgarh & Maharashtra) Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, stated that over the past two years, memorandums demanding such legislation have been submitted through local district and taluka administrations as well as public representatives at more than 75 locations across the State.
