Puri, March 24 -- Preparations are complete for the long-awaited inventory of the Ratna Bhandars (treasure chambers) of the Sri Jagannath Temple, with the process scheduled to begin on Wednesday, an official said on Tuesday.
Following the guidance of the temple's traditional astrologer, authorities have selected an auspicious window - Mahendra Bela - between 12-09 pm and 1-45 pm on the seventh day of the Chaitra month to begin the sacred exercise.
The district magistrate will retrieve the keys of the Ratna Bhandar from the district treasury and ensure their secure return after use.
Two dedicated teams have been constituted for the operation: a three-member supervisory panel led by the chief administrator, and a ten-member working group. ...
