Imphal, Aug. 7 -- The Department of Physics, G.P. Women's College, observed Hiroshima Day 2026 today at the college.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal of G.P. Women's College, Prof. L. Rajen Singh, highlighted the historical significance of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the Second World War. He noted that Hiroshima was struck by the atomic bomb "Little Boy" on August 6, followed by the bombing of Nagasaki with "Fat Man" three days later, and observed that although "Fat Man" was more powerful, the number of casualties was higher in Hiroshima.
