Shimla, Aug. 31 -- The Himachal Pradesh government on Monday warned of strict action against dealers, agencies or cooperative institutions found forcing farmers to purchase liquid nano urea along with conventional urea or NPK fertilisers.
Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar said farmers could not be compelled to purchase any fertiliser or product and action would be taken as per rules against those indulging in conditional or forced sale of nano urea.
The issue was raised prominently in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly by Congress MLA Bhawani Singh Pathania through a calling attention motion.
Pathania alleged that farmers in the state were being forced to buy bottles of liquid nano urea along with conventional Fertilizers.
