Shimla, June 5 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has said the state government would forcefully raise Himachal's ecological concerns and rightful claims before the Centre.
While calling for environmental protection to become a mass movement, he reiterated his government's resolve to eliminate the chitta mafia from the state.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion of World Environment Day at the Ridge here on Friday, Sukhu said Himachal Pradesh plays a vital role in providing clean air and water to northern India and is therefore known as the "Lungs of North India".
