Shimla, May 12 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today directed the Health Department to prepare a comprehensive Nutrition Policy for the state by May 31, aimed at promoting awareness about healthy food habits and achieving the vision of a "Fit Himachal".
Presiding over a meeting of senior Health Department officials, the Chief Minister said Himachal Pradesh was poised to become the first state in the country to formulate such an extensive nutrition policy.
He stressed the need to educate people about the nutritional value of food and said awareness campaigns should be intensified across the state to encourage healthier lifestyles.
