Shimla, March 24 -- The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the government of Himachal Pradesh to submit a revised and accurate compliance report on the implementation of the Municipal Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016.
The direction was issued by the Principal Bench of the tribunal during the hearing of the original application, which relates to monitoring compliance with solid waste management rules and other environmental issues in the state. The bench was headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava, along with expert members Dr. A Senthil Vel and Dr. Afroz Ahmad.
During the hearing, the tribunal examined a six-monthly progress report filed by the Special Secretary (Urban Development) to the state government.
