Shimla, Aug. 31 -- The Himachal Pradesh government will consider starting Karmakand Purohit courses in state-run Sanskrit colleges, with diploma and certificate programmes also proposed under the initiative, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Monday.
Chairing a meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Board here, Sukhu said an ideal society could be built only through harmony and brotherhood.
He said social harmony strengthened unity and fostered an atmosphere of peace, goodwill and cooperation, laying a strong foundation for the progress and prosperity of society.
The Chief Minister said the state government was also taking steps to address the issue of stray and destitute cattle.
