Shimla, Sept. 9 -- Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday urged the Centre to support setting up a centre for astronomy and astrophysics in the high-altitude tribal regions of Lahaul-Spiti and Pangi on the lines of the astronomical initiatives at Hanle in Ladakh. The Chief Minister made the request during a meeting with union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences Dr Jitendra Singh, where he discussed a range of proposals aimed at strengthening science and technology-based initiatives in the state, particularly in remote and tribal areas.
