Shimla, May 15 -- The State Election Commission, Himachal Pradesh, has issued fresh directions regarding the application of indelible ink during urban local body elections in the state.
The State Election Commission, Himachal Pradesh, has directed all District Election Officers-cum-Deputy Commissioners in the state to ensure that indelible ink used during the urban local body (ULB) elections is applied only on the left index finger of voters, however, advocates may be allowed to vote after identity verification and application of ink on the right-hand index finger. The clarification followed references received consequent to the Bar Council elections.
