Shimla, April 22 -- In a major push against drug trafficking, the Shimla Police have intensified their anti-narcotics drive recording a sharp rise in arrests through backward linkages and dismantling multiple interstate and international supply networks, reflecting a shift towards targeting the roots of the drug trade.
In the year 2026 alone, within just about three and a half months, a total of 27 accused persons have been arrested based on backward linkages. This is the highest number recorded in the past five years and reflects the police's commitment to tracing drug cases to their roots.
