Shimla, May 27 -- In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Shimla Police have attached properties worth over Rs 1.13 crore allegedly acquired through the illegal drug trade in two separate drug trafficking cases, while intensifying action against both supply and demand networks involved in narcotics smuggling.
Shimla ASP Abhishek Dhiman, while addressing media persons on Wednesday, said that during the current year, 134 cases under the NDPS Act had been registered in Shimla district, the majority involving intermediate and commercial quantities of narcotic substances.
A total of 286 accused persons have been arrested so far.
