Shimla, May 5 -- The first-ever "Kinnaur Bird Festival" will be held in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh from May 8 to 10, aimed at celebrating and conserving the region's rich natural heritage.
The three-day festival at Goli in Kalpa Kande, will coincide with global conservation initiatives such as Global Big Day and Himalayan Bird Count on May 9, strengthening efforts towards bird conservation and biodiversity awareness.
Deputy Commissioner Kinnaur, Amit Kumar Sharma, said on Tuesday that the primary objective of the festival is to highlight the unique biodiversity of Kinnaur and the wider Himalayan region, while fostering a deeper connection between local communities and nature.
