Shimla, March 25 -- The Himachal Pradesh government has outlined an ambitious roadmap to expand green cover while addressing concerns over environmental loss due to infrastructure projects.
Responding to issues raised by MLAs, including Kewal Singh Pathania and Sukh Ram Chaudhary, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu emphasized that ecological preservation and development must go hand-in-hand.
The Chief Minister acknowledged concerns over uprooting of traditional and ornamental trees such as peepal during NHAI projects and assured that restoration of greenery would be undertaken in coordination with NHAI.
