Shimla, July 17 -- Himachal Pradesh Government has proposed the largest-ever expansion of postgraduate (PG) medical seats in the state's government medical colleges, increasing the intake from the existing 277 seats to 597 in a major initiative aimed at strengthening specialist healthcare services and medical education.
The proposal, the first of its kind to be undertaken in a single phase, is expected to create greater opportunities for medical graduates to pursue postgraduate studies within the state while addressing the shortage of specialist doctors across various disciplines.
