Shimla, May 3 -- The National Health Mission (NHM), Himachal Pradesh, on Sunday, clarified that only two students of nursing institute hostel at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial State Medical College (MGMSC), Khaneri in Rampur, have tested positive for tuberculosis (TB), dismissing reports circulating in sections of media and social media claiming a larger outbreak.
According to an official statement issued here, both cases were detected in 2025 and were promptly put on treatment as per Government of India guidelines under the National TB Elimination Programme (NTEP). One of the students has since fully recovered, while the other is undergoing regular treatment and is under medical supervision.
